Aaron Forbort

Class of 2002
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Chair, Administration Committee

Aaron Forbort is a Minnesota native, having grown up on the north shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. He was drawn to the Pacific Northwest and Lewis & Clark College by the easy access to nature, especially mountain hikes and weekly trips to the region’s abundant hot springs.

Aaron was a Barbara Hirschi Neely scholarship recipient and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs, minoring in Political Economy. In addition to his time as the editor of the Meridian and serving on the International Affairs Symposium committee, he involved himself in choral music opportunities around Portland, including Cappella Nova at Lewis & Clark.

After graduation, Aaron spent several years working in banking for two international financial institutions. Eventually he shifted his focus to the health care financing space, joining UnitedHealth Group and leading finance and accounting teams at OptumHealth.

Currently Aaron is the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Network Solutions at HealthPartners, an integrated care and coverage organization serving patients and health plan members in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. He spends his time traveling the upper Midwest building partnerships with care systems, finding ways to improve patient experience, health outcomes, and care affordability.

When not in the office, Aaron and his husband spend as much time as possible in the woods up north with friends and family, including their two adult children.

Aaron has his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
